BACKGROUND & HISTORY: Jameson is the eldest child of wealthy Siren Cove well-knowns Maureen and Jay Kane. His parents run one of the choice law firms in town, Kane & Kane, and though he’d been expected to follow in his parents’ footseps, Jameson has just gotten done setting up shop with his own practice–as a psychologist. Jameson grew up in Siren Cove so aside from his family’s reputation–and his own rep as a brooding, spoiled rich boy–people would know him from (private) school or town events that he consistently frequented at his parents’ urging. He also does guest lectures at the Siren Cove Community College on a fairly regular basis.

Jameson is friendly but quiet, charismatic when he has to be but frustrated by the expectations that come with being a Kane. He has three younger sisters who all try exceptionally hard to set up him with women they’re certain he’d like if only he’d make the effort, but Jameson hasn’t told any of his family members yet that he’s gay. He’d dabbled in a relationships and dating and one-night-stands in his years at university in California but nothing’s ever stuck so instead, he dives headfirst into concentrating on his work–if only his sister would give the matchmaking attempts a rest.

PERSONALITY: Jameson is approachable and open to conversation. He’s the kind of person who’d rather hug in greeting or as a goodbye rather than shake, and he’s always been an excellent listener–hence his vocation–but friends might know or soon come to realize that Jameson doesn’t often offer much about his own life back. He was popular in school, voted Most Likely to Succeed, but Jameson could never really tell whether people liked him because they really liked him or because of his name. That’s the very reason he left Siren Cove to go to school, to leave behind the Kane legacy if only for a little while, and he’s had a warm reception upon his return so the time away seems to have been a good idea. The greatest power he knows is his megawatt smile, and he takes advantage of it when he has to–though most of the time, he really is just a nice enough guy to get by.

OPINION OF THE RIVALRY: Jameson knows about witches and sirens and rivalry, mostly because he has friends who shared their secrets with him when he was younger. He doesn’t really take a side, and he can’t recall a time when a question of his opinion has ever actually come up so he doesn’t really bother thinking about it much.

LIFESTYLE: (TW: ARGUABLE CHILD ABUSE) Jameson is most definitely a trust fund baby, but he’s been working since he was fifteen. His father was always incredibly strict, never one to hold back on using a belt when he felt the occasion called for it and even now, he’s been known to raise a fist to Jameson when he’s pushed past his breaking point or when he’s had a little too much to drink. Jameson tends to look past that, though that goes against all the advice he’d offer someone in the same situation, because his entire education had been paid for by his mother and father, as well as the down payment on the swanky condo he lives in now. His motorcycle, however, he bought all on his own, and he knows he could easily be called spoiled but he’d like to think he has a good head on his shoulders.

At the moment, Jameson focuses most of his energy on work and trying to spend time with his sisters when he can, even though he’s tempted to shun them all for their constant matchmaking efforts. He doesn’t do a lot of dating, mostly because he’s not out yet, and any booty calls tend to be down in the next town over just to avoid any unwanted questions. He knows he should just tell his family the truth but he’s admittedly a little afraid of what his father will think about it and it’s enough to keep his mouth shut for now.

POWERS &ABILITIES: Jameson does not know that he’s part siren. His father has kept it a secret all this time, even from his own wife, and has the power of compulsion. Jameson has a similar power, one that isn’t maximized and is not used on purpose. However, part of the reason he’s found success in psychology is because he’s always had an uncanny ability to put people at ease, to get them to talk about their deepest insecurities and desires, and he also has the ability to help people clear muddled memories. This will come into play in the game in the future but until then, Jameson is clueless.
